Daily Affirmation

My mistakes do not define me. This ties in with yesterday’s affirmation – forgive yourself for the past; you can’t change the past but you can grow from it. Forgive yourself for any mistakes you have made. Everyone makes mistakes. The best you can do is try to fix it, learn from it, and move on. It’s most likely guaranteed that the mistake you made has already been made by someone else and there is already a fix to it. Don’t worry about the mistakes you make or have made. Fix them, learn, move on, and try to prevent the same mistakes from happening again.

My past and my mistakes do not define who I am. I am not the same person I was even a year ago. I’m DEFINITELY not the same person I was when I made the most mistakes in my undergraduate years. I’ve learned, moved on, and grown. Although my mistakes have helped shaped who I am today because of the lessons they taught me, it does not define who I am today. I am not the same irrational, impulsive, argumentative girlfriend I used to be. I am no longer the same reckless young adult. I am no longer the same heartless teenager. The mistakes I have made do not define me. Only I can define myself. No one else can define who I am except me.

I am beautiful. I am passionate. I am brave. I am resilient. I am strong. I am ambitious. I am determined. I am all of these things packed into a small 5’1 little body.
