Daily Affirmation

I accept myself unconditionally: all of my flaws, the mistakes I’ve made in the past, who I used to be, who I am today, and who I will become in the future. It wasn’t until recently that I fully accepted myself and fully forgave myself for the mistakes I’ve made in the past – to others and to myself. I forgive myself for emotionally hurting others in a harsh way when I could have done things in a more compassionate and understanding way. I forgive myself for blaming myself for years for getting raped. I forgive myself for trying to kill myself and inflicting physical harm unto myself. I accept myself unconditionally, trauma, health problems, and all. I have come to terms with all of the terrible things that have crossed my path and I accept them as they are a part of myself, but only a part of my past. I am no longer in denial that I was raped, that I have/had depression and anxiety, that I hurt others. The first step to loving yourself is accepting yourself as you are and forgiving yourself. Learning to love yourself is a process, and it isn’t as easy as it sounds. Each day is a step towards progress. Today, accept your flaws. They make you unique and no one is perfect. Everybody has flaws. Tomorrow, accept the mistakes you may make today and forgive yourself for any mistakes you may make. Mistakes are part of learning. Slowly, each day, accept something new about yourself, forgive yourself, and love yourself.

I accept myself unconditionally.
