12.17.2017 Dream 1

It's funny how while in a dream, everything makes sense, yet when you wake up and the images flow through your head, they no longer have a clear narrative. I typically have several outlandish dreams in one night, usually filled with some kind of terror or fear involved. Others are based on things I've watched recently. The following dream was definitely influenced by my recent viewing of Grey's Anatomy.

The two girls looked for the hidden room in the entire hospital that was quiet and empty. They heard that it was in one of the study lounges in the hospital so they headed in that direction. They walked slowly down a spacious, long hallway filled with rooms on each side. The floor of the hallway was accented with a sea foam green pathway in the center of the floor. She looked to her right and read the sign as she walked by slowly, “3062 Oncology.” Inside the room was a man in his 20s sitting up in his patient bed, speaking softly to his parents as they were crying and comforting him. She walked a few paces forward and glanced into the next room. Three chairs lined against the right side wall with patients hooked up to IV treatments, silently flipping through magazines as they received their treatments. She continued walking and found one of the study lounges, a key-card locked lounge with a large, clear sliding door with green accent signs.

Just then, her peer yelled over to her, “It’s this one!” She waved over as she opened the study lounge on the opposite side of the hallway with her key card. They walked in to the amazingly spacious study lounge, completely filled with other peers and the sound of their concurrent conversations reverberated throughout the room. She left her mouth agape at the sheer amount of space that the lounge contained. It was definitely nothing as it looked like on the other side of the door. The door opened up to a completely new world: an open floor plan with modern furniture, even a coffee bar on the right side of the lounge. The lounge was even two stories high, or even more! There was a clear staircase leading up to the second floor that rounded around the center help desk of the lounge on either side.

The lounge looked completely full, she highly doubted that they would find the room they’re looking for. Her peer ran halfway up the staircase, “Come on!” She waved over excitedly, leaning over the edge of the staircase and peering down at her. She was still shocked by the sheer size of the lounge; she had no idea this place even existed within the hospital. She closed her still-agape mouth and followed after her peer.
