Daily Affirmation

Some days are tougher than others when it comes to figuring out what you want to do in a situation and what’s best for yourself. Some days your heart is really set on option A, and the next day you begin to think that option B is the better choice. When it comes to making difficult decisions, it’s hard to figure out which solution is best for you.

I’m in a dilemma.

My inner guide is not always clear cut, or my heart wants something but my mind knows better, and it’s hard to fight what you want for what’s best for yourself. Some days I wish things were just simple and people could change once they realize what’s best. Of course, it’s impossible to change someone else even if you can see the damage they’re doing to themselves. It’s difficult navigating through a life with other people, especially when people are irrationally stubborn.

I know what’s best for me: a healthy relationship, a supportive and comforting partner, financial stability, a partner with the same goals as me, a similar vision of our future together. So what do you do when those aren’t the circumstances? It’s simple to take the easy way out and leave, but what if you don’t want to? What if you believe leaving is running away from the problems and you want to stick it out and work on it together? What then? Sigh.
