It’s the gross kind of hot and I don’t like it. I’m thankful that my office is a good temperature – not too hot and the AC isn’t freezing. It’s a really comfortable temperature where you can be comfortable with a light sweater on or not. Almost all of the staff will be back in the office next week and I still have to meet the remaining 90% of the company. I hardly remember the names of the people I’ve already met. I’m always terrible with names. And my name is the hard one. I thoroughly enjoy the diversity of the people at the firm. There is a good even distribution of male:female, old and young, and different ethnicities.
There was actually a really encouraging conversation I was involved in today with one of the partners and the paralegal I work with. The partner came to US to ask how the department can improve the workflow. She had visited the San Diego location and observed a few things about their process and asked for our opinions on how we can streamline the process and maintain the least amount of steps as possible to get the job done. They were really kidding during the interview that the firm is a contributing team. An attorney was asking us how we improve the process. It’s diabolical. Almost unheard of in the legal field. I absolutely love this place and this team. I love the office. I love this job. I’m happy. And again, my body is also happy!!
They also have a farmer’s market every Thursday in the business plaza. I passed by on my morning break and the food smelled SO GOOD. I went back during my lunch and tried the poké booth. Pictured below is the ahi poké bowl. Although typically the only raw fish I like is salmon, this tuna wasn’t so bad. I think they could have the chunks better, but the bowl overall was good. Their traditional sauce seemed like a mix of soy sauce and something else that made it a little sweet/not as salty. It actually kept me full the entire day and felt like such a healthy choice. I definitely want to try the other booths each time. There was also a tamale booth, a separate Mexican food booth, a thai booth, and a hummus booth. They just need boba…

P.S. the recliners in their break room are so comfy.
