My writing is impeccable, but I need to work on my speech. How do you talk to people without it coming out as a jumbled mess?!
I attribute it to my brain working faster than my physical ability to speak so that I don’t feel as bad, but it’s still something I want to work on. I need to slow down and think about what I’m actually going to say. It’s a thing I need to do with everything – be more intentional and patient with myself. Give myself, my body, my brain, a second to grasp the intention and execution of what I am about to do.
I’ve reduced the time I spend listening to music or podcasts in the mornings as I get ready for work as an effort to give my mind the space to create thoughts and let my thoughts run, rather than constantly listening to something that fills that space; and it does help. I just need to make it a habit. Meditation sounds like a good idea as well.
