I noticed that it’s been easier for me to sleep during the day than it is for me to sleep at night. And as I usually do – I took to Google to find journal articles and case studies about why. One of the theories that seemed most applicable to me was that I possibly sleep better during the day because I feel safer during the day and I’m able to relax easier during the day. Whereas at night, I’m much more alert and wary, making it difficult to relax and sleep.
This appears to be common with people who have endured trauma, relating to the fight-or-flight instinct.
I just thought I’d share that tidbit I learned – maybe it resonates with you as well.
