Kintsugi

Kintsugi — “golden joinery” or “golden repair” — is the art of incorporating powdered gold or silver into the repair of porcelain or pottery to highlight the broken places. Its simple message: that which is broken does not have to remain so. Rather, an object can be transformed into something more meaningful and in many ways better than it was before. It is the care and diligence that have gone into its repair — not the precious metal that has been added to it — that makes it so.
