Let me preface this by saying: I have no idea where this idea came from and where this idea will go. It just happened one night and I haven’t really touched it since that night. This is only a snippet of what I wrote.
She closed the door quietly behind her. Her tears came faster now, streaming down her cheeks, falling from her chin one by one to the floor. She slid down to the floor where she crumpled up and began sobbing uncontrollably. She sobbed for what seemed like hours. She finally peeked her head out from under her arms that hugged her knees. Her eyes felt excruciating. Red, painful, swollen. Her head was pounding. She slowly turned her head upwards to glance at the clock on the wall in front of her. It had only been 15 minutes. She rested her head backwards on the door and closed her eyes gently. After a few deep breaths, she fluttered her eyes open. “What am I doing?” She thought to herself. “Is this how it’s supposed to go?” She had no more tears. She had no more energy. She felt desolate inside. She didn’t even feel tired. She simply existed in this moment. She stared down at the floor in front of her for what seemed like an eternity… She roused gently from sleep the following morning. She found herself on the floor still. She hadn’t moved at all since last night. Her head began to pound as she began to recollect the events of the previous night.
What do you guys think? Is there potential? I have an idea of how I want the plot to go, but will I even be able to execute it? First time for everything, I guess.
